Rosslyn Chapel

Ink illustrations applied to merchandise for Rosslyn Chapel.

Founded in 1446, the Chapel’s magical interior is packed with intricate stone carvings. Green Men sprout foliage symbolising growth and fertility, and the lavish Apprentice Pillar is said to be inspired by a dream, its beauty throwing the Master Mason into a fit of jealous rage. Outside, angels adorn a memorial to the fourth Earl of Rosslyn.

The Chapel found fame in the writings of Sir Walter Scott and played a starring role in Dan Brown’s novel The Da Vinci Code.
